What’s all the fuss about? David Letterman is accused of going too far in his latest bit about Sarah Palin. Check out my audio comment below! And I would LOVE to hear what YOU think!

I dont have any kids so I really cant say what it would feel like for someone to make a sexually charged comment about my daughter. sometimes i wonder about jokes though and the effects they have. When i was in the 2nd grade and wouldn’t give a boy in my class something (i think a pencil) he said i had PMS, I cryed to my mom about it and had no idea what it meant. I can just imagine what it would feel like for the girl to go to school and people laugh at her and say “I heard you got knocked up by A-Rod!”.
Alot of his jokes are funny but this time I personally think it was not cool. your right that sometimes saying something in a funny way makes it easier to look at. Like some of the John Stewarts show, I can see why people watch that sometimes instead of the news so much.

The comments that Letterman made may have been crossing the line however it is my feeling when you are a public figure such as a politician then your public life unfortunately is put in display by the media. Now after hearing why Palin said why she was in town to help those with autism maybe David shouldn’t have charged the comments up so much. But i also have to counter with this is that tina fey actually made fun of her as well on saturday night live so it that saying that its okay to be made fun of by one person and not another? This topic has me split between yes david shouldn’t have crossed the line but also Palin also should have kept her personal life under wraps if she is a public figure if she didn’t want certain info exposed.

I think any public figure is fair game as long as a joke is in good taste and funny. I do not believe the family is fair game. The kids should never be subjected to ridicule just because they have ambitious parents.

You do have a good point Joe. Palin’s life only should have been made fun of without sexual remarks. Her Daughter Willows public life should have never been made public by the media or joked about in the first place by letterman.

As a parent you never want hear any type of jokes about your kids. But, if your in the public you won’t bring your kids into the public.
Being that protective parent stops when child become adults. If the daughter is old enough to start a family she is old enough to be made fun off.
But, any thing that is said by a latenight show is never said to be hurtfull. Its made to entertain and laugh.
As a public figure sitations like you should acknoledge it and move on. Don’t defende it or justify the actions that comedians are making fun of.
THank you for your time and this were #my2cents
